Scheduling Module
The Scheduling module is divided into two parts, manufacturing and preventative maintenance scheduling. Together they work as a complete scheduling system.
Manufacturing or production scheduling involves finding the optimal time for manufacturing/production orders to be scheduled on the assigned work centres. The scheduling module integrates with Microsoft Project providing production planners with the tools to visually represent and manage production orders, along with their dependencies, against resource constraints.
Because maintenance interrupts production, it is often only “breakdown” and “reactive” maintenance that is permitted, even though the greatest benefit can be derived from “preventive” maintenance. Preventive maintenance is the safest way to ensure protection from costly future downtimes and breakdowns. The Scheduling module harnesses the full power of MS-Project to present and manage maintenance work orders. Preventative maintenance work orders are created from flexible schedule definitions for each asset/activity combination. MS-Projects levels the task resources to comply with the work calendars of plant, crews and activities. The maintenance manager is presented with a real and achievable work plan every time. As work is done, the module records the progress and reschedules future work using actual meter readings and calendars.
With these tools, production planners can ensure that all scheduling for the production process, and its maintenance, is as efficient and productive as possible.
